CVS and lighting control

Hi I would like to use CVS-1454, Camera "Basler scA1390-17fm (IEEE 1394b, 1392x1040, 17 FPS, Monochrome)" and Computar Lens (16mm, F1.4) 780026-01.

I have few questions:

I saw that I can use Light, Ring Light (Red) 780222-01 , but I can not understand how to mount the light to the lenses or the camera.

Could anybody explain me how to do this?

How can I control lighting with CVS-1454 and do I need external power supply for the lighting.

Does NI have power supply for the lighting?

Best regards

Vassil

Hello Vassil,

Here are the specifications of this camera from Basler website:

http://www.baslerweb.com/downloads/19717/Basler_scA1390-17fm_EMVA_Standard_1288.pdf

Lighting can not be connected to the Basler camera the same way it is connected to SmartCamera which has built-in Lighting controller.

The  Ring Light (Red) 780222-01 can be mounted only on smartcamera.

Therefore, in your case,  the lighting should be set separately from the camera.

Regards,

Emil

Hi,

Could somebody tell me companies producing Lighting Controllers which could be connected to CVS.

I saw that "Advanced illumination (Ai)" has such Controllers, but can anybody give me names of other companies producing similar products?

As far as I understand, I will be able to control a Lighting Controller by using a digital output of a CVS, is that correct?

Best regards,

Vassil

Edmund Optics has a good assortment of lighting and mounting hardware. They also have good tech support and should be able to help you with lighting problems. Banner engineering has a flourescent ring light if the pattern from the LED light causes unwanted paterns in your image.

Hi,

I saw that CVS 1454 has 4 Isolated (Current Sourcing) Outputs and the output current can be up too 100mA.

I want to ask if these outputs can be used to turn ON and OFF a lighting directly.

The current will be bellow 100mA.

Best regards,

Vassil
