Color Spectrum Values for Color Matching

I've recently starting working with the IMAQ color learn and IMAQ color match functions, but am a little confused about the color spectrum data that is passed between the two.  The help for the match function says that you can effectively ignore certain colors by making the corresponding element in the color spectrum array a -1, which is what I'm actually looking to do.  The problem is I can't seem to find any information about what each element represents.  I'm guessing it is a color look-up table of 16 different hue values that all of the image hues are grouped into, but even if that is correct I don't know which element corresponds to which color.

Hello ShadowofVT,

You can find more information on the color spectrum in the NI Vision Concepts Manual.  The information you are looking for begins on page 15-8.

Great, that was exactly what I was looking for.  It seems as though those color spectrum bins are just evenly divided among the possible hue values, with 2 always being reserved for black and white.  Thanks again!

Hi! I'm tring to use Imaq Setup Learn Color pattern Vi. It has a tunnel in : Ignore color spectra. I read many posts, manuals, all of vision manuals : but i dont really understand how to use it. " For
example, by replacing the last component in the color spectrum with –1, the
white color is ignored during the color matching process.
". OK , but how to do that? anyway, i read this : Use the Color Sensitivity control of the IMAQ ColorLearn VI to
specify the granularity you want to use to represent the colors". So, what I wanna do , how to use the color spectrum array (2dim) from Imaq Color Learn as an input to the Imaq Setup Learn Color pattern vi, avoiding the error messasge like this :

Please help!
