Distorted Image using CVS1454

Hi guys,

Currently i'm using CVS1454 with Sony XCD-710CR (color raw) camera. We are using this setup to run inspection.
The automation is controlled via Hitachi PLC. Everything works fine except for during start-up, after few cycles for checking the image goes distorted. Only the image but not the overlay.

As a countermeasure, in MAX i've ticked (ignore first frame image). But this problem still persists. The occurance is difficult to be monitored. Usually i happens when while the programme is running from CVS and i use VBAI 2.5 my system to intercept to configure mode. Once in configure mood, i can open the programme file and make changes. Once i click run... this problem will occur(note: not always though).

To recover to normal state, i need to reboot the system. Any idea. I'm using NI-IMAQ IEEE1394 v2.0.0 Beta (this supports bayer encoding). My Malaysian NI support have already provided me with actual release version, haven't tried yet. Perhaps that could solve the problem too.

Hello,

I would definitely try installing the released version of the NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 driver. Also, try opening an FTP connection to your CVS and navigate to /IMAQ1394/DATA/. This folder will contain the camera file for every firewire camera that you have connected. Try disconnecting your cameras and then delete the contents of this folder. Once this is done, try reconnecting the cameras. The camera files should be regenerated. Once this is done, try refreshing your system and try running your Vision Builder code again.

Try these steps and let me know if the trouble persists or if you have any additional questions on this issue.

Excellent, i tried this morning (actually 12hours different). It works fine so far. But this is the changes that i notice. I have 3 cameras hooked to the CVS. Initially Camera 1 now automatically set by the system to Camera 3 while camera 2 is now automatically set camera 1.

It's okay as i managed to identify and changed the acquire image option to select the new camera. But i need to assign bayer encoding again in MAX only then it works.

Anyway thanks a lot to you and also to the Malaysian Support team. If anything abnormal takes place i'll inform you guys
