How to do real-time analysis of an image

Just wondering is there a possiblity for IMAQ to do a continous acquisition of images(in grab mode) and while at the same time doing the analysis. Or do I have to program for it using Labview?

The IMAQ drivers are only for acquisition, and do not do any analysis. For analysis, you need to either program it in LabVIEW or use one of the Vision Builder programs.

If you'd like to avoid programming in LabVIEW or any other application development environment, then I suggest using Vision Builder for Automated Inspection. This software allows you to prototype, develop, and deploy a machine vision application without ever needing to buy LabVIEW, IMAQ Vision, or NI OCR.

For more information on Vision Builder AI, please follow this link: http://volt.ni.com/niwc/imaq/launch.jsp

Cheers!

I have Vision Builder program but there seems to be no method for it to do real-time image acquisition while at the same time, doing analysis. Is there any other method in the Vision Builder program that would allow this?

I don't think the original Vision Builder software is capable of automated analysis of real-time images.

NI's new software, Vision Builder AI is capable of real-time image acquisition and analysis. You can set up a series of pass/fail tests for each image.
