How to generate delayed output signals using video feed after image is processed?

Bruce,

Do you have any idea what processing speed time would be required for the system to work? Currently I can get about 8.08 FPS on my laptop with a standard pass/ fail image... the only reason why I ask is I am trying to postpone buying the hardware until after I have determined if my idea is feasible as this is apart of my senior project for college and I dont exactly have a lot of money on hand to spend on the "possibility" of success. If you could give me any feedback that would be awesome... and fyi if it helps i am hoping I can run the tractor at around 2-4 mph...

best regards,

Joe

There are so many details that I don't know.  It is impossible to tell you if you can process fast enough.

If you need to have overlapping images for your method to work, then you should be able to figure out how fast you need to process images based on field of view and tractor speed.  If they don't need to overlap, you can still figure it out by estimating allowable space between images.

I would assume 8 fps would be fast enough.  At 4 mph, you are moving at about 6 feet per second.  Analyzing 6 fps would analyze 1 image per foot of travel, so 8 fps is just under a foot of travel per image.

In what way is this question related to the old discussion of this thread?

Could you explain in more detail what you are trying to do?
