I am using the 1409 with a single camera. Every once in a great while I'll get a distorted image. The top part of the bad image looks wavy, like the frame grabber wasn't sync'ed with the camera. What can I do to avoid this?

Depending on the environment it could be noise.

you may not have the right file associated with your board.check your camera frequency,i maq bord interface. and get the file according to that.
size of aquisition window also matters. just try this
