I need a light meter to measure color temperature, lumens, Color Balance which is compatible with labview.

I am looking for a light meter which I could integrate with labview. It should be

able to measure lumens, color temperature, Color Balance(RGB values). If anyone ever

used one which is compatible with labview or NI sells one just let me know.

Hi Yesh,

Have you seen the Light Meter VIs that come with Vision Development Module?  An example of these can be found here

Also, there are a few instrument drivers from International Light for various radiometers and photometers. 

If this is not what you are looking for, then could you please tell me a little bit more about your application?  Are you acquiring images then going to do some post processing on them, or would you like to use the actual light meter?

Some things that would be useful to know with any light meter that you would like to connect is how it would communicate with LabVIEW and if it follows standard protocols.

thank you for your quick response. Yes I would need a handheld meter to put it across

a LCD screen and give me out parameters such as color temperature, lumens, Color balance,

which I would build a automated test in labview. Could you pass me more info about the light

meter that you have, I have seen it but donot know if it measures all the things I need to 

measure.

We do not sell any light meters and so any that you find would be third-party. There are some drivers that are on our website at www.ni.com/idnet that communicate with third-party devices. One thing to note, however, is that the drivers are provided as-is and are not officially supported. I did a search for International Light as was previously mentioned and these are the two for which drivers are available:

I take back this old topic as I also need a light meter, more particularly a flash meter for photographers, which can measure f-stop of a flash, and which is compatible with labview.

I understand it is a very specific question as not everybody is familiar with f-stop measurements... But in case anybody knows what I am talking about and has a product to propose, please, reply here!
