I need to get luminance values (in Foot Lambert or Nit) from a 3CCD RGB 32 bytes Scan Camera

I have found code (http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-5003) to read luminance values as a monochromatic level (0 to 255), but how do you translate those values to real LUMINANCE values ( in Foot Lambert or Nits).

I guess what we get with the code I refer is related to Relative Luminance ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminance_%28relative%29)

Thanks

Hi Milli,

There is some more infomation (specifically in chapter 1) about the luminance plane in the Vision Concepts Manual

These both seem to be referring to the intensity of light within the image--is there any specifc reason that you would like the non-relative luminance?
