IMAQ WindDisplayMapping

Using the IMAQ WindDisplayMapping function by specifying the Given Range something goes wrong. Half of the image is corrupted (the negative values) and the other half is mapped between black and white.
I also tried it with an example found in the database of the Developer zone (see attached VI with my example TIFF file).
I tested it several times with a grayscale ramp. I think it has something to do with the I16 representation of 16 bit images in IMAQ. I also noticed that IMAQ only displays correctly TIFF files that are saved in the Motorola (Big Endian) convention.
The attached image is a ramp going vertical from white above to black (use Photoshop). In IMAQ the image is not displayed correctly. This can be bypassed by adding and subst
racting 32768, 32767.

Please help.

PJD,

Are you using IMAQ Vision 6.1 ? In earlier versions of IMAQ Vision there was a problem with the Given Range and 90% Dymanic Policy options on the IMAQ WindDisplayMapping that caused negative values to get corrupted and not being displayed correctly. It was fixed in IMAQ Vision 6.1. Is good that you have a workaround but I wanted to check if you are using 6.0.5 or earlier that will have this behaviour. Again, 6.1 fixed that.

Nestor.

Hi Nestor,

Indeed, we use 6.0.5. Thank you for your reaction.
