Hi,
I'd recommend going through the Vision Builder for Automated Inspection tutorial. It is 150 pages long and ideal for beginners. You can also download the Vision Conceps manual in zip file format if you would like to print this off too.
Cheers,

What are you trying to do? VBAI is a powerful program for prototyping your image processing routine, however, it supports no control logic (e.g., conditionals or looping) and is somewhat limited as far as what data can be extracted from it.
The beauty of the program is that it will create VI's or VB/C code for you from which you can work to build your application.
Hope this helps.

I believe Steverino is referring to Vision Assistant, which is a prototyping tool. Vision Builder AI (VBAI) is a configurable software that supports looping, logic, communication with 3rd party hardware through standards like Ethernet/IP, TCP, Serial, Modbus, etc. If you have a question about how to do something because it's more advanced and not addressed in the Getting started tutorial, the forum is a good place to start. Unfortunately no books have been written on VBAI, just the tutorials and help files that ship with the software.
Thanks,
Brad
