Is there software out there to read a 2d barcode?

I know this question has been asked and not answered before. Does anybody know of a product out there to read a 2d barcode? It seems that IMAQ vision can only read a 1-d barcode.

I am not aware of any software that reads 2D barcodes. There are many self-contained readers that scan the bar code and output the results. That might be an option, depending on your application. You might be able to find a non-LabVIEW library for reading the barcodes that can be adapted for use with LabVIEW.

What kind of barcode are you trying to read? Do you know the system for creating and reading that kind of barcode? If you do, a reader could be created. Contact me if you would be interested in this option.

I just learned of a completely software based 2D bar code reader for Data Matrix that is in the final development stages. It will be released in the next month or two. As soon as a beta version is received by Ammons Engineering, we plan to develop a LabVIEW interface for it.
