Leica DFC320 cam compatible with labview?

I was wondering if the Leica DFC320 digital microskope-camera is compatible with LabVIEW? It has a standard firewire-connection. we've been trying to connect to the camera through NI vision, but without any success.

Hi Bisken,

Firstly have you got Vision Aquisition installed (and have you got a license for the 1394 driver?)
You need this driver to give you access to the 1394 functions pallet in LabVIEW.

You might want to look at this link.

The camera you are using needs to be IIDC compiant and I can't seem to find the documentation on the camera manufacturers website that states if it is.
If your camera is complient and it still isn't working then you need to look at the 1394 board you are using.  This needs to have a OHCI chipset. (take a look at the following link)

Can you see the 1394 card/port in device manager?
How about in MAX?

Hope this helps a little, get back to us if you need more help.

Thanks

I'm trying to do the same, but my DFC320 Camera is not recognized. Even my OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 board is not listed in Max Devices & Interfaces. The camera is recognized by Matlab and other development systems, but not by LabView.

I have installed the latest NI-IMAQdx driver in evaluation mode and both host controller and camera drivers are up to date.

I tried also an Ethernet Camera DC 200 and still in this case I cannot see anything listed in Max Devices.
