Max don't recognize my firewire camera

Hello,

I'm new to LabView. I need to make an application which must control a firewire camera. The problem is that when I tried to use examples from Ni-Imaq or NI-Imaqdx I receive the error which said that "No camera found".

I search in the  Measurement & Automation Explorer  in the  Devices and Interfaces but I didn't find my camera here.

I'm using a point grey camera model fl2, LabView 8.6,  Ni Imaq for 1394 v 2.0.5 and a pccard firewire through I connect my camera to the computer.

The windows XP recognize my pccard firewire.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks.

Hi Coj,

Please make sure that you installed Vision Acquisition Software and then restart your PC. I confronted a similar problem and this might make you laugh. the problem was in the cable so just doublecheck this too.

Keep us here informed and everyone will do his best to solve your problem.

Since you see "OHCI compliant Device" on your windows XP, this means your card is installed correctly, so either the cable or the Vision Acquisition Software that holds the problem.

Thanks for your reply.

I checked my firewire cable with the application fly capture from the camera provider. With this software the camera works fine(I think the cable is not a problem). I have installed on my computer full version of Labview 8.6 which contains I think all the necessary software for acquisition.

After LabView install it is necessary to make others changes to setup 1394 comunication?

I just tried directly the IMAQ examples from Labview and receive the error.

The Measurement & Automation Explorer  doesn't have to recognize my firewire camera in the  Devices and Interfaces?

Thanks.

In the device manager try uninstalling card. Restart and install the driver once again. Might help. Is the camera working with direct show?

Even after I reinstall the driver for the firewire pccard it doesn't works.

It can be a problem from the compatibility between the labview and my firewire pccard?  I have a firewire pccard from digicom. I'm not sure that the labview works just with the national instruments devices.

Thanks for your replies.

Hello,

I'm sorry for the delay.

I tried my firewire camera and my pccard firewire on another computer and in max I can see my camera. Also I could tried the examples with succes.

So the pccard is not the problem, even the pci slot because the software of the camera works on my computer.

I find that in max in device and interfaces I don't have NI-IMAQdx option. This option appears only when the max recognize my camera?

All the drivers are installed.
