There is not a memory size limitation for an IMAQ Image. Adding more RAM will always help, however I belive you should easily be able to open a 191MB file with the resources you currently have. My machine has only 512MB RAM and I can reliable open 244MB (256 million bytes, 16k x 16k) images and sometimes as much as 280MB. I have spoken with other engineers working with images in the 300-400MB range.
IMAQ does require a continuous segment of memory for a each image, so it's possible that there is enough total memory avalaible, but not enough in any one segment. Try closing any unused applications that might be fragmenting the memory (browser, instant messanger, etc.). Launch the task manager and close any unnecessary processes. Acrobat, for example, can be a re
al memory hog, even if there's no pdf showing and you think it's closed.
It is possible to make windows run in a smaller memory footprint, however RAM is very cheap, time is usually not.
