Measurement and Automation - Can not initialize camera

Solved!
Go to solution

I am have been developing software to interact with GigE Vision cameras and have a Dalsa Genie HD visible camera that I have been using during development. I also have been using NI Measurement and Automation software to verify that my software does what it is suppose to.

Well everthing was working well and nothing notable has changed other than a three day weekend, but now I am getting an "IMAQ Error 0xBFF6902C - Unable to connect to the camera" when using the NI Measurement and Automation software. When I lauch the softwar I click on "Devices and Interfaces" -> "NI-IMAQdx Devices" and my camera appears in the list, but when I click on the camera to connect I get the error.

I have tried connecting to an other camera with the exact same setup (hardware and software), but everything works as it should.

Any ideas? I have tried many things 😞

Thanks in advance.

Troubleshooting GigE Vision Cameras

Also if you are using multiple cameras are the names different from one another?

This error usually indicates an IP configuration mismatch between the camera and the host such that the camera is unreachable. It is generated when we try to open a connection to the camera and do not get a response.

Thank you for the responses.

@muks - I had explored that link before, but in my hast of trying to resolve the issues I forgot to set the driver of my Intel Pro/1000 GT back to the National Instruments driver. The driver I had installed was the most recent from the Intel website, but I that seems to not work well with this camera.

@Blue Cheese - I was also experiencing IP conflicts before so that is good advice as well if someone else is having issues.

I do have a few other questions about IMAQdx and the VAS (Vision Acquisition Software) in terms of development, is this the proper place to post those questions?

Thank you again!
