Nanotube Image Analysis

Hello,

I am a brand new user of IMAQ Vision for LabVIEW.  Before I invest time in learning how to use this package I would like to know if what I plan on doing with it is feasible.  I have images of nanotubes and I would like to put together a program to count them and measure their shape (diameter and length).  I know that blob analysis can be done, but these tubes overlap one another (looks similar to a snake pit).  It seems more difficult than blob analysis where overlapping blobs would be taken as one blob, but in counting nanotubes there would have to be a way to count all of the individual overlapping tubes.  Does anyone know if this could be done?  I've attached a typical image.

Good morning byrne,

That sounds like a very interesting application that you are inquiring about.  This application is convered in the Geometric Matching feature of NI Vision.  I am attaching a link below:

This link will take you to the NI Vision Concepts Manual.

I hope that this information is helpful!  If there is any other information that you need, please post back and I will do my best to find it for you!

Respectfully,
