OCR same font, different brightness.

Hello,

I have a question regarding the OCR function. I have it set to read numbers from round caps. The OCR's ROI is set using the annulus tool and will follow the center of the cap. I have the same caps with different numbers on them but the colours of the caps vary. I want to know if when I set up the threshold for the OCR will I have to change the setup for the different colours each time or is there a way I can set up one OCR which will pickout numbers regardless of the brightness?

Hi,

The OCR function is going to select characters based on the specified background/character settings.  You could filter the image so that the characters and background are the same color before they go into the OCR function.  What is the color variation of the caps you are inspecting.  Would it be possible for you to post some sample images?
