Occasional IMAQ from fast Ext' Triggers

How do I acquire (occasional!) images from a fast external trigger source?
ie. I have a uMotor running at 1MHz and I want to trigger and snap images triggered by its input frequency. Everything I've tried out gives timeout errors!
I'm running the Pulnix camera (TM-6AS) in external double pulse operation ie. I control when the camera opens it's shutter and when it closes it and sends the captured frame, but every thing I've tried from HL to LL IV's (example code) doesn't appear to reset the image capture(?? ie timeout) as the code, when looped for consecutive frames always timesout!...

The ability to acquire from a camera immediately when the camera receives the trigger is known as Asynchronous Triggering (which is a property of the camera to restart the scanning of the CCD array in the camera).

The Pulnix TM-6AS has an Asynchronous Reset. The camera needs to be configured into the async mode, and the trigger needs to be routed to the camera. For more information on the camera setup (http://www.pulnix.com/imaging/i-data.htm).

The shipping examples for NI-IMAQ and triggering are for the IMAQ board to receive a trigger and acquire the next frame.
