Hi ,
I have a NI PCI 1429 frame grabber installed in a PC running Windows Seven 64 bit. LabVIEW 2011 and IMAQ 4.6.1 are installed in the PC. The only adapter attached to the PC is the NI 1429 board, that is in a PCI Express x16 slot running at x4.
After the Windows boot, the NI MAX is unable to display the 1420 interface.
I found that there are two PCI-to-PCI bridge devices in conflict in the same bus (these are related to the Intel 41210 device of the NI 1429 board). After deactivating followed by re-activating of one of these devices, the problem disappears and the NI 1429 interface can then be displayed in NI MAX and the board can be use with complete functionality.
However, I am not satisfied with this solution, because every time I boot the PC I have to perform all these operations again.
So, I am asking for a definitive solution:
-do I have to re-install something (I don't believe it could solve the problem at all)
-do I have to upgrade the NI 1429 firmware (it is pointed as a risky operation in the NI knowledge base)
-any other suggestion ?
I have attached a zip file with a more detailed description of the problem and this partial solution , with some screen captures enclosed.
Thanks,
Joao

Hi,
somewhere in my message I mentioned a 1420 board. It is actually a NI 1429 PCIe board.
Sorry,
Joao

Hi Diogo,
I've tried it already. Didin't work, unfortunately.
As I pointed out in my post to this forum (see also attached material), maybe the problem is not concerning to registry or software installation, but just to a hardware conflict during the Windows Seven startup. Maybe I have to update the NI 1429 firmware. However, as pointed out in NI KB, this involves some risk to the hardware and some supervision of some NI expert should be desirable (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/FAA4FCDE13D15E21862575CF0065160F ).
So, I'm waiting.
Thanks for the trial.
