Hey Mushi,
First of all, I would suggest upgrading to the newest NI-IMAQ driver, which now is Version 3.1.1. You can download this driver from the following NI-IMAQ Drivers link.
Now in order to place an IMAQ Image on your front panel, go to the front panel and right click anywhere in open space on the front panel and go to All Controls. Then click on the Vision palette. Find the Image Display Control and place that on the front panel. This is how you would place an Image Display on your front panel like any other control (graphs, numerics, indicators, etc.).
It sounds as if you are opening a new Front Panel window when you are displaying the image. One thing you can do is copy the IMAQ Image Display from the pop up window and place it on your Main Front Panel.
A good example that you can take a look at that has your IMAQ Image Display on the Main Front Panel is the "HL Grab.VI" or the "HL Snap.VI". You can find these example programs by going to the NI Example Finder (under Help -> Find Examples). These are simple examples that will show you how to do what you are trying to do.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I have not answered your questions. Thanks and have a great day.
