In my project I usegolden template comparison. There's 3 options for intensity settings (Normalization Method)
- None ("No change" in Golden Template Comparison Setup)
- Histogram ("Histogram Matching Normalization" in Golden Template Comparison Setup)
- Average Matching ("Average Matching Normalization" in Golden Template Comparison Setup)
Normally i prefer Histogram ("Histogram Matching Normalization" in Golden Template Comparison Setup).
But sometimes I get strange results compared to the other two methods when i use this (Histogram) method.
The other two methods (None & Average Matching) gives almost always the same results.
I wonder where the problem is? Is there a bug?

Hello Desalando,
I would not classify this as a bug. The different methods use different algorithms to ascertain the final image. I would expect that some are more reliable than others.
Best wishes!

Hello Amanda,
First of all thank you for your answer.
I can understand that different methods use different algorithms to ascertain the final image. But what I really not understand is how is possible to see what I see if I use "Histogram Matching Normalization" in Golden Template Comparison Setup. Because this results get I not always. For some images works "Histogram Matching Normalization" in Golden Template Comparison Setup totally absurd.
Did you see the other attachment in my post?

Hello desalando,
Do you see differing results while using the exact same inputs? Have you noticed any patterns to when you see the outlier input? Do all three algorithms normally find the expected output?
Thanks!
