Problems with PixeLINK-Camera PL-A782

Hello,

I have some strange Problems with PixeLINK-Camera PL-A782:

1. If I change the videomode (in MAX and in a VI) from 7 to 6, I get a picture, that is green or red with stripes. If Ichange it from 6 to 7 there is no Problem this way.

2. If I set the white balance (wb) to absolut 3200K, take an image, then start a one push wb and then set the wb back to absolut 3200K the image is different to the first one. But I think they should be the same, because absolut is a fix value.

3. If I start a grab the framerate is ok, but if I start the grab with the same parameters again, the framerate is as half as before.

4. If I set an RIO and start a snap, the image is that from the RIO. If I start a snap again, I get an image of the top-left corner with the width and height of the RIO, only the x- and y-offset are ignored. This happens only in VI, in which I change the ROI one time and then back again.

It would be very kind if someone could help me, because this is really confusing.

I am using the IMAQdx 3.0, LV 8.2.

Hello Daniel,

first you have to check the correct driver support for you cam.
Open MAX and choose your camera.
Right klick on the cam and select the NI Imaqdx driver.
In the next step you should check the specification of the cam.
Not every video mode is supported for the cam.
If you change settings for example the white balance mode, you need to save the settings.
Please click the save button on the upper left corner.

Hi Daniel,

The PL-A782 is a color camera and it supports the following video modes:

• Format 0:
• Mode 1, 320 x 240 YUV(4:2:2), Frame rate 2 to 4 (7.5 to 240 fps)
• Mode 3, 640 x 480 YUV(4:2:2), Frame rate 2 to 7 (7.5 to 60 fps)
• Format 7 partial image size (variable ROI)

The White Balance control selects the color correction matrix used to balance light from different temperature sources.  The Auto feature of the white balance control actually controls the white shading feature and balances the image to white by matching the peaks of the histograms of the three color channels.

For the question on ROI - be sure to set the top, left parameters every time you switch the ROI.
