RCA USB Video capture

Hello,

I have a RCA camera.  I would like to capture the video from the camera into LabVIEW.  Has anyone done this?  From what reseach I have done I need a frame grabber.  Does anyone know of a USB frame grabber that accepts a RCA camera that works with LabVIEW?

I was reading that IMAQdx works with Micorsoft's Directshow.  What hardware would I need to make this work?

Thanks!

If you are using a USB 2.0 camera, it must be DirectShow compliant. Then, you should be able to use the NI-IMAQdx driver. You don't need a framegrabber if you have a PC that has a USB 2.0 port, but it's important that the OS detects the USB device before you use it with NI software.

Also, have a look at the following article:

Is My Camera Supported by National Instruments?

Do let me know if you are in the position to consider other cameras and camera bus types; I could suggest some that have similar functionality and costs and would work well with NI products.
