Register CWIMAQ.ocx

I am having a problem with a registering the new 6.0.5 CWIMAQ.OCX to a Windows 200 computer. The process normally (and we have done this on other machines successfully several times) is to copy CWIMAQ.OCX to the windows system 32 folder. And then register the file from the command prompt with regsvr32. Problem is that windows wont allow us to copy over the older version of the file even though it is administrator doing this. It claims the file is in use so cannot be copied over, even after a reboot. Anyone know how to get around this issue please?

Adam,

You might want to try to take your IMAQ boards out of the computer before rebooting. On a boot up, the IMAQ boards get initialized, so their associated modules as well. You can check also the Windows Task Manager and see if there is an IMAQ process going on, just kill that process. You might want to try to rename the old cwimaq file and then place the other one, or try to delete the old one. If you have been able to register the cwimaq component in other Win2k machines check if there is any change, like the service pack, it should be at least 2.

Good luck!

Nestor.
