Hello tanguri, For the Sony XC-HR70 we recommend the PCI-1410. There is also a camera file available for this camera to work with the 1410.

The XC-HR70 and the XC-HR50 do not output a pixel clock signal, which the 1409 requires to acquire from non standard video signals. The 1410 doesn't have this requirement because the PLL is more flexible and so this device is the recommended option for nonstandard video signals like these cameras output.

The 1409 board, however, supports Sony XC-HR50 as http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nipc.product?pid=3742 .
and I have ever used the HR50 with 1409.
Could you tell me the detail reason why the 1409 cannot support HR70?

The 1409 requires the camera's pixel clock for non standard camera resolution acquisitions. The HR70 does not provide this signal (it used to, but required soldering a jumper on the camera's circuit board and this dramatically reduced the quality of the image, so Sony stopped recommending this). Because the HR 70 doesn't provide a good way to output the pixel clock signal, the HR70 won't be able to be supported with the 1409.
The HR 50 has a standard resoution and so it onl;y requires the HSYNC and VSYNC signals from the camera when doing asyncronous resert.
