Saving IMAQ Vision overlays onto a grayscale image ??

Hello all,

I'm grabbing grayscale images, analysing them and adding overlays.

However, the overlays won't appear on the saved image!!!

The Vision concepts manual recommends saving as a png file, however this doesn't work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mike

P.S. I'm using LV6.i + Vision 6.0 for Win95

I believe you can load and save the overlay information along with the image within LabVIEW using "IMAQ Read Image and Vision Info" (and Write).

I don't know of any way to maintain the overlay information outside of LabVIEW. Currently, there is no way to merge it with your image. This would be very useful for printing, or image manipulation outside of LabVIEW.

Thanks Bruce,

Saving with vision info helps, however the overlays won't appear when viewing the saved image with photoshop, photo editor etc. .

However, yesterday I managed to maintain the overlay by using the draw shapes and add text vi's in the Pixel Manipulation submenu of IMAQ Vision.

Adapting the overlay position clusters allowed me to achieve the desired result.

Problem solved!

Thanks again,

Mike
