Setting up multiple cameras In Labview

I am having a problem getting multiple cameras to start in labview.  If I start my application with two cameras I can not grab images. If I grab one or more frames using MAX or an application with only one camera there is no further problems until I reboot computer. I created a application using Vision Builder AI 2.02 and I noticed that It creates an vi that it call IEEE IVB 1394 Setup. This vi seems to allocate resources but this vi generates errors in the latest version of imaq. Is it neccesary to allocate resources when using multiple IEEE 1394 cameras in labview? How is this done?

Hi Ancle,

The VI you posted looks more or less correct.  I have a couple of questions for you:

1) Can you successfully acquire two images simultaneously when you use a combination of MAX to acquire one image, and Labview to acquire the other?

2) What is the make and model of the firewire card you are using?  What model are your firewire cameras?

3) Can you describe the situation that causes you to need to reboot?

4) Have you tried this with version 2.0.1 of the 1394 driver?  If you purchased the driver after version 1.5, this should be a free upgrade.  If you haven't, can you try this?

Hopefully the information can help us get to the bottom of this one,

Robert
