Sony XC-EI50 CE icd file

Hi.

I'm working with the Sony XC-EI50 CE analog camera and have no trouble acquiring images on MAX and in Labview, but I can't seem to get the right resolution out of the camera.

I've tried almost all of the icd files that come with MAX, and I can't seem to find a proper one.  Either the resolution isn't good or the camera won't react to triggering.

I've found one file on a forum here, but it's not compatible with the 1410, which is the framegrabber I use.

Does anyone know where I could find a suitable icd file for my camera?

Thanks.

Hello Orel Bechler,

What is the camera file that you are currently using? Have you tried using the camera file for Sony XC-EI50?

Hi, Andy.

Thank you for your reply.

I've tried using a few files, but they don't have the correct resolution settings.  The ones that come close somehow stop my camera from responding to triggering.

I've tried the link you posted, but couldn't find the icd file.

Any ideas?

Thanks again.

Hello Orel Bechler,

What are the .icd files that you have tried?

Some people were able to get this particular camera to work using Sony ST and ES (1410).icd or Sony ST and ES-CE(1410).icd which you can find here.

ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/imaq/camera_support/camera_files/analog/sony/

Copy those .icd into the NI-IMAQ\data directory and see if those camera files would work for your application.

I've tried those files, but the resolution is wrong, and the image come out all distorted.

Is there no way to find my camera's .icd file?

Thanks again.

Hello,

The different options you have available for obtaining a camera file that works with your camera are listed here: ni.com/camera . If you are continuing to have trouble, I would suggest trying the Camera File Generator and making one yourself, or contacting the manufacturer directly to see if they have a proper one.

Thanks Zach.

Do you know of any camera file generators that are compatible with the 1410?

Hello,

My apologies. The Camera File Generator will not work with you 1410. I was thinking this was a CameraLink or Parallel Digital card for some reason. I would say that your best option would be to contact the manufacturer.

I am having a similar problem.  Did you manage to work this out?

Thanks,

I just use the default .icd file that's in MAX.  I've decided that's good enough.
