USB Cameras with Vision Builder for Automated Inspection

Hi,

Does the Vision Acquisition Software 2009 keep the camera ON till the next snap or it reconnect to the camera for each snap seperately ? I'm considering about the snaping time, How quick it snaps from the camera?

and Can I use Vision Acquisition Software 2009 to snap from several usb cameras in VBAI, all connected at the same time?

thanks

Not sure if you're aware, but you can have multiple sessions open to different USB cameras simultaneously using the NI Vision Acquisition driver. This wasn't supported with the unofficial USB driver, but the Vision Acquisition driver allows you to have multiple sessions open at the same time and acquiring with USB cameras, so not sure if this means you don't have to snap anymore, but I would recomend grabbing because it has a faster acquisition time and doesn't require configuring the entire acquistion everytime.

Hope this helps,

You can use the Grab function for acquiring the image its pretty fast. While using multiple cameras use the Enumerate cameras vi from the vision acquisition module and use the cameras seperately and the frame rate depends on you camera. The vision software will always keeps the camera On and it will not try to reconnect with the camera when you keep the USB_INIT out of the while loop.
