USB WebCam consumes high CPU and memory usage

Hart,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having this trouble, but at this point you have a couple of options for work arounds. First off, I am assuming you have the Vision Development Module since you are using IMAQ for USB. So, one option is to use the software that came with the camera. You can make ActiveX calls in LabVIEW to acquire the image as an array of pixels, then use the IMAQ ArrayToImage to convert the array into a datatype that IMAQ/LabVIEW can use.

You can also use the software to save a series of images (if you wanted video) as JPEG and open them in LabVIEW using IMAQ Create and IMAQ ReadFile. Or you could read an AVI file in  LabVIEW, if the camera software allows you to save video in this format.

I'm running into the same issue with the IMAQ for USB installation. One user noted that he was provided with a copy of the DLL, but I do not see it linked to the page. How can I go about getting this file?

I do have Vision builder, and labview 2009.... and the USB works fine in the vision assistant...
