Sorry I wasn't more clear earlier. When I said to try it on Windows, I meant use VBAI on Windows with your camera connected to your PC and associated with the IMAQdx driver on Windows. In VBAI running on Windows, use the IMAQdx step to acquire and the Read/Write Attribute step and see how that works.
Here's the VI I used for the Custom UI. I just had an acquisition step use the slider value for the AutoExposure value. I also used an overlay step to show the Frame Index from the acquisition, and then I displayed the image with a custom UI step updating the image display control.
Let me know how this simple example works for you and how using the VBAI steps with the IMAQdx driver on Windows works for you. (I don't have VBAI 3.6 installed or else I'd make the example again...could install, but hopefully it's not too hard for you to make it).
