Using JAI TMC-1402 CL with PCIe1429

Hi,

I am trying to use a JAI TMC-1402 CL with the PCIe1429, connected to a microscope. Looks like there is no camera file from the National Instrument site for this camera. I've tried using the TM-1402 camera file and the image looks dark. There is light to dark reaction when pointing the camera to the room light. Is there anyone who has developed the camera file for this setup?

Hi Legardo,

From what I gather, the TMC-1402CL (made by JAI/Pulnix) replaced the TMC-1400CL, but I could only find a camera file for the TM-1400CL (the monochrome version) and not the TM-1402CL.  If no one posts an existing TMC-1402CL camera file they made, you can try to make your own using the NI Camera File Generator.  (If you search for Pulnix color Camera Link cameras on the NI Industrial Camera Advisor, there are camera files already built to use as guidelines.)

Thanks for the help. We did use the TM-1400CL as a starting point. We also found out there was a illumination problem on the microscope that the camera is connected to. Right now we are tryring to access the different camera settings thru the property node of imaq.

Let me know if you have additional questions about the IMAQ property nodes then.  They will allow you to change some camera file features programmatically (as well as other image features).

I have the TM 1402CL (BW version, not colour), but was by mistake sent a colour one at first.  I could get it to work fine with the TM 1400CL driver, but had to use it in format 7 and increase the pixel dimensions.  With the colour camera, every adjacent pixel has a different shade, this is due to the Bare filter that is painted on the CCD.  This made me very confused at first, as I ordered a grayscale camera. 

You will need to apply a Bare filter correction to the image.  As each colour lets in a different amount of light, the un-corrected image varies in intensity between adjacent pixels as they are each painted with a different colour.   I seem to recall that there are Bare filters built in to the TM1400CL camera file, but am not sure.  You will need to know what type of bare filter (colour filter)/pattern of filter is on the camera.
