Dear Morten,
I have resolved the problem. I have inverted the X and Y position of the base, initial, and end points.

Thank You

Dear tryu,

You didn't specify in your post, but I am going to assume that you are using LabVIEW. In the NI Vision for LabVIEW Help, navigate to the Contents tab, and then expand NI Vision for LabVIEW Help. You should see an item, fourth from the top, titled Supported Image Types. This table lists every NI Vision VI that can take an image reference input and indicates which image types the VI supports. It also explains that this information is included in the help file for each Vision VI in the form of image-type icons at the top of the help topic.

If you know all of the possible values for the color of the Warning Bank, then you could use color matching to determine which color the warning bank is at any given time.

I would recommend taking a look at the ColorMatching Example VI, and the Meter Example VI. You can find both by searching for them from the LabVIEW Example Finder.

If you have any additional questions as to the specifics of programming your application, please post back with as much detail as possible as to what exactly you are trying to do, and I'll try to help!

Best Regards,

~Nate

and using Firewire Protocol. So the image is color. When i use IMAQ Meter

and calibrate as mentioned in the Meter Example i dont get good values, what

can be the reason  do i need to process the image

so that needle gets distinctive from the background dial.   as the image is color

Dear tryu,

In your previous post, you mentioned wanting to identify the color on the warning bank of an instrument cluster. Do you want to accomplish reading the meter position and identifying the color of a warning bank from the same image? Can you post back with some sample images of different needle positions (include both positive and negative full scale positions if possible) and of the different colors that you want to capture? What is your application? Do you want to make a decision in your program based on what color you detect?

Please post back some sample images and some more detailed information and I'll be happy to help.

Best Regards,

~Nate

Hi,
I am sending you the image of the gauge i need to calibrate.
I think the meter function will not work and i will have to
use the edge detection method.Have you worked on
such an application. Please provide some solution.

Dear tryu,

Can you please attach a few more images with the gauge in different positions? I will need more images to try to help you.

I have worked on edge detection applications, but I've not had the occasion to put together an application that tracked a guage needle. Once you attach a few more images with the needle in different positions, I'll see what I can recommend. Without these images, I cannot tell you the reason why the Meter example was not returning accurate values.

Thanks!
