Hello,
i have big problems to install Vision Acquisition Software at Windows 8.1 (64bit) with installed LabView 2013 SP1 (32bit). It ends up in a blue screen after restarting the pc.
My primary problem was that i don't had "Vision Acquisition" express vi in LabView 2013 SP1 under Windows 8.1. So i installed this VAS2014.02 (http://www.ni.com/download/ni-vision-acquisition-software-2014.02/4584/en/) and it solved the problem, the vi was in labview and works fine BEFORE i restart my pc. Because after restarting the blue screen is coming up. After several times of blue screens there came up the recovery menu of Windows 8.1. By selecting "Starting Help" or something similar (i have german OS) in "Advanced Startup Options" the system could be recovered with relatively small data loss (the today work was lost, only yesterday files were there). So i repeated the installation of VAS2014.02 and once more the same: blue screen after restarting Windows 8.1.
Is it incompatible with it?
(but it stands: NI Vision Acquisition Software 2014.02 - Windows 8 32-bit/8 64-bit/7 64-bit/7 32-bit/Vista/XP 32-bit/Server 2008/Server 2003 R2 32-bit)
What can i do to use Vision Acquisition express vi in labView 2013 Sp1 under Windows 8.1? I had lost the good part of the time today to keep it running with no success. Thank you for any suggestions in advice!
Michael

Hi Michael,
I'm sorry for the problems you're facing with VAS. There is a known issue with some software components that VAS pulls in, which will cause the BSOD you're seeing. The problem is being formally addressed at the moment, but in the meantime, the easiest workaround is to remove IMAQ I/O support for the R-series cards (1483, 1473R, 8237R, 825xR) as indicated here: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Machine-Vision/After-upgrade-to-NI-Vision-Acquisition-Feb-2014-Windows-does-.... If you require the use of these cards, there are other workarounds for which you can contact NI support while the problem is being officially addressed.
Regards,
Joseph
