Water shed segmentation

Good day. I'm a student from Monash University. Currently, i'm doing a study on red blood cell count. In order to count the total number of cell, image segmentation is needed. Unlike Matlab, labview does not have the watershed method. Is there anyone here used watershed segmentation in labview? Thanks...

Hi Teck,

The Vision Development module gives you access to algorithms that are already optimized for performance time and results.  You can most likely perform the same segmentation with some of our tools, but unfortunately the watershed algorithm itself is not exposed.  I am unsure if the algorithm is used on a lower level of any of our functions.

I believe the watershed transform is included in the next version of the Vision Development Module.  To receive a copy of the beta, just go to ni.com/beta and add yourself to the IMAQ beta list.  I hope this helps.

Thanks Kyle V. I had register myself to the IMAQ beta list. It is under pending now. Do you have any idea how long would it take for it to be approved? I need it quite urgently because the duration of my project is about 5 weeks time. Thanks....
