Why does my PC crash when grabbing images with PXI 1408 from a standard camera?

Hi!

I am trying to use PXI 1408 to grab images from a standard monochrome camera.

System configuration:
Pentium II with 128 MB RAM running Win NT (SP 5)
PXI 1408
Software: LabVIEW - IMAQ 2.5.1 with MAX

When running the RS-170 camera type, the PC crashes if I try to grab images. Snapping works fine. I think this has something to do with the card gain, since the OS crashes when I change the illumination (and the computer has to be rebooted).
I can't enable bus mastering; the option is not available in the BIOS setup. I therefore upgraded to IMAQ ver. 2.5.

Any suggestions to avoid this?

Ajit,

You should try installing the upgrade patch to NI-IMAQ which will take you to ver. 2.5.3. If that doesn't solve the problem I would recommend contacting Technical Support directly. They can be reached at the "Request Support" like at www.ni.com/support.
