Don't worry about the scanning. It won't hurt it at all.
I would pack it in the original cardboard box if possible, inside the padded anti-static envelope.
They may want to inspect it, so pack it near the top of the suitcase and make it easy to open - don't tape it shut, etc. It might be easier to keep it in your carry-on, if there is space.
