chromatism inspection

Due to be a beginner for machine vision ,so I would like now the basic construct steps and which functions can be used. we have had a set of standard color code card ,now want to compare the difference between the standard and the practicality. Please give a solution . Thanks.

A little more detail about the application and the details you are inspecting would be useful.

Whenever you are trying to inspect color, good lighting is a major issue. I would also recommend a digital camera for acquiring images. Colors tend to bleed a lot when using an analog camera.

If you are trying to make absolute color measurements, you will have to do a lot of color calibrations to get good measurements. If you just want to compare color to a reference sample, that is much easier.

Are you looking at overall color or small spots that are a different color than the rest of the material, or both?

I think what you need to do can be done in LabVIEW with the vision toolkit, but I would need more information before I could make any recommendations.
