defects inspection of Piece casting.

i have attached a photo of cilander that casting.
i want to detect defects on it with labview vision
im new to image proccessing please help me to start.

First illumination is not even. The sharpness of the image can be improved. By defect do you mean the irregular circular hole?

can you post the image of a good component too?

this test has to level

1st is about holes. in 1st picture (1.jpg) left side hole crooked but right side hole is good in 2.jpg both of holes are good. we must 1st check holes that thay are fit to circule shape.

2nd  is about surface. some time we have no good casting like a new photo(3.jpg) that i have attached and the surface of product opaque(not a sleek surface).
