descriptors for multiple ROI's

You are getting the error (I assume from the top part of your image) because the Global Rectangle defines the area encompassing all of your ROIs.  When you use the ungroup function, then each ROI has its own parameters for its Global Rectangle.  At least that is my guest.  The attached does work though.

Alternatively, if you just want to do the ROI Profile on the first contour, see the attached image.

i am trying to read a book using OCR. i am able to read a single line correctly. bt when there is more than one line, there is a problem with ROI. i want an ROI around each line to read it..can u help me with this?

You'll get more visibility by creating a new thread. It seems like this thread pertained to a different event and came to resolution in 2008. This will bring it more attention. I hope this helps!
