trying to use Vision Assistant to create a script to measure the length of a piece of aluminum scrap. the images will be captured and the length of each piece used for control. I have attached a sample image.

I wanted to create a sample script and do a benchmark to see how long the processing would take for each piece moving under the camera.

measure the overall length as it moves along a conveyor.  my first guess at a procedure would be to find a bounding rectangle and then use the length as a measurement.   I wanted a script that I could turn into LabView code to time the operation.

what you want to do it is not just image processing it is Machine Vision you have to select correct imaging system based on your conveyor speed
but your answer is using IMAQ Particle Analysis VI
