I am using Basler Camera Gige vision sca640-70gc with real time EVS and vision builder i use MAX for putting camera settings. when i put settings of camera as mentioned in the manual to get single image per hardware trigger it gives me time out error.

hardware trigger comes every 3.5 second what camera acquisition control settings i have to use to get the desired result?and what is more setting i have to put in my consideration.

Hi Frank,

Timeout of the camera usually occurs with timeout period parameter (Wait time for Hardware Trigger). Increase your timeout value of the camera in Max. This link may help have a look at here http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6317

Thanks for your reply i increased the time out and i had to make the acquisition mode Snapshot. but the acquisition not well synchronized with the hardware trigger what happens is it takes image after a little bit receiving the external trigger and when i change the exposure still not synchronized yet.

as mentioned ExTrig comes each 3,5 second and i guess that`s a large time to the camera to put the acquired image to its buffer and transmit it to be processed. What the settings I have to change to make the acquisition synchronized with ExTrig

Hi frank..

Normally triggereing camera takes no much time. Check it out are you using Imaqdx snap or Imaqdx Grab.

I`m using imaqdx 3.8.0 but i`m not sure in which way i can use it in grabing or snapping...i just choose snapshot mode in vision builder when i make setting of camera...one more thing when i decrease exposure time it acquire as video

Hi frank

I think you are facing a bit troubles please ensure these things

1.Put your camera in hardware trigger mode.

2.Set your timeout period too long.

3.In acquisition mode select the continuous immediate mode (You will get only one image when the camera triggers).

4.If you getting more images its because of your camera triggers.

I think this will help you...

i made sure from these four steps and still gives continuous capturing...actually i exchanged the system from EVS windows base to EVS real time and this triggering issue was working with me fine due to manual of camera or even when i read any posts about tis issue on NI website but since we changed to real time system sth goes wrong even when i connect the camera directly to laptop for checking it is not working as i want due to manual.

last step i took setting up all vision softwares and labview i thought it includes some embedded drivers that my application needs but alas didnt work also.

i make sure also that i have only one trigger selector is on while the other is off

Hi Frank,

Have you tried using the Pylon software to set the camera for external sync triggering?  How are you wiring the triggers?  Do you wire it to the EVS or to the camera itself?

Regards,
Kira T

Hi Frank,

Were you able to use the Pylon software to successfully change attributes on the camera, or is that not working all together?
On the Basler camera, what DIO input line are you using?  Have you tried wiring you trigger to the EVS?

Kira T
