sony dcr-hc18e via firewire, IMAQdx

I would like to import the camera 'sony dcr-hc18' connected by firewire 1394, by using the IMAQdx-driver. It doesn't work to use the camera in labview and vision, I see it in 'measurement & automation' , but it is not beeing accepted with the driver..
Is the camera supported by LabView? Otherwise I have to wait with programming my labview-program until I have the correct industrial camera later.

Hi Pirmin,

I advice youto  install the latest driver NI-IMAQdx 3.1 that you can find under this link.
Then, hopefully,  you will be able to use your camera with LabVIEW.

Hi Laurent, Thank you for the answer. I have already the latest driver IMAQdx 3.1, but is there maybe an update from the regular release in july 2008? Otherwise I think it's not that easy with this normal handy camera.. Greetings and thanks alot, Pirmin

Handy cams use a compressed video format which is not compatible with IMAQdx.

Okay, thank you Bruce. Yes I thought already it will not be easy to use the handy cam and in fact thats true I've heard of this problems with 'jumbo packages' too.
So I'll wait with programming until I have got the right industrial camera to include it into LabView.
