sony dfw-x700 firewire camera

I have a Sony DFW-X700 camera that connects directly to my computer via firewire, or to my laptop through a Firewire Cardbus Adapter.

I cannot get NI (MAX) to recognize the camera in either configuration,despite re-installing the vision drivers as suggested in the help.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try using init-->grab-->close in lv and see whether u are able to get an image.

IMAQ Init VI requires an "Interface Name" which "must match the configuration file name used in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)."

So, if I cannot get the camera to show up in MAX, how can I intialize and Grab.  Also, there is no "Grab" function, rather a "Grab Setup" and a "Grab Acquire".

Is this the only NI help available now?  What am I paying my yearly maintenance fees for?
