storing images on smart camera target

I downloaded an ftp client and tried to access the C drive on the camera and had the unsuccessful results shown in the attached screenshot. Looks like it's connecting to the camera but apparently the handshake doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

What happens if you just open a File Window and type the FTP address in the path (ftp://<IP Address>)? Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me.

I tried that Brad and got the same negative result. I downloaded another ftp client, CoreFtp and tried that and got similar negative results - see screenshot. Should I be using the other ethernet port on the camera, port 2? The first ftp client was "waiting for a welcome message". Should the camera be outputting a welcome message?

Are you using static IP or DHCP? Can you ping the camera? Your host computer and the samrt camera may not be setup on the same subnet and this could cause this problem. If you setup the camera for static IP and your PC is setup for DHCP this could be the problem. What is your PC's IP address and subnet mask and what is the cameras?

I can communicate with the camera via VBAI. I can monitor the image seen by the lens, select an inspection resident on the camera, and send Active X commands to begin that inspection from my pc, and the first ftp client confirmed connection to it, so there must be a valid connection between the pc and the camera, correct?

From your host PC, try doing Start->Run, and then run "cmd". In the opened console, type "route print | clip". This will print out your routing table into the clipboard which you can then paste into this forum. This will let us see why you might be having connectivity issues.

How about you just do "route print" and take a screenshot, or copy the text out of the window manually and paste it here. That should be just as good.
