We are working on an automatic optical inspection application, largely using Pattern Matching of NI Vision. However, a large number of false errors are reportedf due to minor changes in illuminations, component shape, appearance etc. Vectoral images are apparently better suited for application at hand. Do any of any Vision tools work on these principles?
Any suggestions for alternate approaches?

Vector images are computer generated images that allow you to define light sources and other effects. They don't really have anything to do with analyzing video images.
It is very hard to suggest alternative approaches since we don't really know anything about your inspection. Please describe what you are inspecting and what defects you are looking for. If you could attach some images that would also be useful.
