Did you mean:

why do i got inconsistent output after ocr process?

Hello everyone! Need some help here=)

I'm using Development Module to develop an application for Fusebox inspention through Visual Basic 6.0. The objective of the said application is to detect ommitted, excess, and wrong fuse in a certain fusebox through OCR inspection and colorpattern matching.

My concern is this:
   1. I got inconsistent result after color pattern matching which leads to not
       meeting its objective.
   2. I integrated OCR module on my application. I used the OCR training application
included in the Development Module to train my OCR reference file to be used in
i  nspection process for the fusebox. Same as with 1# inconsistent result.

E'm i missin' something?

Any help will do...

Thanks...

anoj,

Have you taken a look at the Vision Assistant's solution for Fusebox Inspections?  If not, from Help » Solution Wizard..., you can find this exact inspection.  Vision Assistant will generate a Builder File, which is essentially Visual Basic pseudocode.

If this still doesn't solve the issue, can you indicate what you mean by "inconsistent results?"  Have you checked to make sure that you have good lighting and a clear image?  And for the OCR, how many characters are you training?

And also my lighting system is OK.

I used my OCR pattern file under fusebox inspection.

Hi anoj,

I opened your image and spent a while adjusting the parameters and training characters.  In the end, I was able to play with the settings and get decent results, but my ones and sevens were still getting confused.  Can you adjust the camera so that you zoom in on only the fusebox area (approx 250 x 275 px at current resolution)?  I think that would make a considerable difference.  If not, it looks like tuning the thresholding and training enough characters will improve the OCR, but I don't know whether or not 100% recognition is going to be possible at your current resolution.
