write an AVI file from images recorded using IEEE 1394

I would like to write an AVI file from images recorded using IEEE 1394 camera and NI IMAQ for 1394.

I found some VIs enabling to write AVI file but they use standard IMAQ, not IMAQ for 1394 (avigrab.zip and NI_ReadWriteAVI files).

I tried as well to adapt these VIs for a 1394 version but without sucess.

Please tell me if there are some VIs doing this job ? I found nothing on that in the discussions forum.

Honestly, your best bet is probably to upgrade to Vision 7.0. This software includes a VI that lets you write AVI files. I've already used it and it is far simpler that the example program on the web. To upgrade, just go to www.ni.com/upgrade and follow the menu.

Try out IVision and IVision-AudioPlus. It allows writing avi file from IEEE1394 camera continuously with video and audio if you want audio. The compression format for both video and audio are selectable. get a demo version at: http://www.hytekautomation.com/products.html

The new IMAQ 2.6 driver also includes VIs for writing uncompressed AVIs directly. This is downloadable for free from the NI website.
