How to protect my temperature measurement from electromagnetic interference

Hi everybody,

I am going to measure temperature and I am going to make a thermocouple from a thermocouple wire.
My thermocouples will be 5 meters long.
Could you tell me how to protect my temperature measurement from electromagnetic interference?

Thank you in advance,
Vassil

Hi Vassil,

In order to mitigate the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) I suggest connecting your thermocouple differentially, taking an average of values rather than single point, and if feasible shielding the area that you will be taking these measurements and removing any devices that may emit large amounts of EMI. You can also try twisting the wires which may help reduce the effect of EMI. I hope this helps.
