strain gauge calibration problems

Thanks in advance

Hi guys,

could anyone help me to calibrate my strain gage. Cos I think my experiments are going in wrong way.

currently im using:

NI USB 9162

NI 9237

NI 9949

As showed here http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4172 and since i've set up my system to measure axial or bending strain like half bridge 1.

So for this set up ive screwed wires on 2,7,6 on NI 9949 as 2,6 to bend strain and 2,7 to axial strain.

Is my setup right?

the strain gauge's resistance is 120 ohm +-0,5% and Gauge factor 2,08 +-1% each.Transverse sensivity is 0,1%. From HBM

How do I calibrate my strain gage? Do i have to do it? I've seen this link http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/892C84122A6501AE86257547007E5C53

and it wasnt so clear.

ps: this is just a prototype...thats why im not worrying about surface...

thanks in advance!
